Your insurance carrier’s phone number is on the back of your insurance card. Here are some helpful questions to ask when you call: 

• Do I have mental health benefits? 
• Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
• Do I have a co-pay for in-office mental health services? If so, what is it?
• Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
• Is the mental health coverage carved out to another insurance company? This is when another insurance company manages your mental health coverage. If you have a “carve out” and we are not in-network with the contracted insurer, you will not be able to use your insurance with us. Be sure to rule this out with your insurance company when you call. This information is also sometimes written on the back of your insurance card.

*It is important to note that most benefit plans reset in January, therefore your health insurance deductibles reset. This means that you will again have to meet a threshold of deductible and out-of-pocket payments.

• When scheduling your first visit, please have your insurance card available so that you can provide the name of your insurer and your insurance identification number. We can check your coverage as a courtesy.  However, the amount we quote you is not a guarantee, and the final determination of payment is up to your insurance carrier.
