Therapeutic Approach

Kennedy’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based, fostering a warm, supportive environment where individuals feel safe to explore their experiences and pursue meaningful change. Her work emphasizes empowerment through the recognition and development of personal strengths, guiding clients toward resilience, healing, and growth. Integrating mindfulness practices and self-compassion techniques, Kennedy supports clients in deepening their understanding of themselves and their emotional well-being.

She works with individuals aged 14 and older, addressing a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and adjustment-related challenges. Kennedy also brings advanced training and completed supervision in perinatal mental health, allowing her to offer informed, empathetic care for individuals experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety, peripartum challenges, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Her specialized focus in women’s mental health reflects a deep commitment to supporting clients through life’s most vulnerable and transformative periods.

Biography

Kennedy Rhodes, MS, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor committed to providing compassionate, client-centered care through both virtual and in-office individual counseling sessions. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University–Bloomington in 2018 and her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University in 2022.

Grounded in strength-based, evidence-based, and trauma-informed practices, Kennedy brings a fresh, research-informed perspective to her clinical work. Her approach emphasizes resilience, empowerment, and self-compassion, helping clients navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. She co-facilitates skills-based group therapy sessions focused on mindfulness and self-compassion and regularly hosts community workshops on topics such as therapeutic journaling and navigating identity shifts in motherhood.

Kennedy is passionate about supporting individuals through periods of growth and transition, fostering a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to pursue meaningful change.
